Meetup Overview and Benefits
The PMBOK Guide changed significantly from the 6th to the 7th Edition. The 7th Edition is smaller and leaner. It invites agility in the higher-level principles that guide behaviors and in the lower-level actions that enable project outcomes.

What research prompted the change between the 6th and 7th Editions? What happened to all the 6th Edition content on knowledge areas and process groups?

In this session, Mike Griffiths, the co-chair of the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition, will answer the why and what of the changes between the 6th and 7th Editions. The session takes a deep dive into selecting and tailoring the project delivery approach to fit not only the business concerns and constraints but also the project attributes and specifics. The session features case studies from Lockheed Martin and others.

Speaker Bio
Mike Griffiths is a project management author, trainer, and consultant working for the Project Management Institute (PMI.) Before joining the PMI, Mike was involved in the creation of DSDM in 1994 and served on the board of the Agile Alliance. He co-founded the PMI Agile Community of Practice and was on the steering committee that created the PMI-ACP credential. Mike led the PMI Agile Practice Guide and has contributed to the PMBOK Guide since the 3rd Edition. He was co-chair of the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition.
