PMBOK & PRINCE2 - Complementing or competing?
2009-06-22
The 8th of June over 70 Project Managers got more information about PRINCE2 and how it interacts with PMBOK. Derkjan Swart from QRP MMI held the presentation.
So what is PRINCE2???
PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a process-based method for effective project management and a de facto standard used extensively by the UK Government. PRINCE2 is widely recognized and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.
The key features of PRINCE2 are:
· Its focus on business justification
· A defined organization structure for the project management team
· Its product-based planning approach
· Its emphasis on dividing the project into manageable and controllable stages
· Its flexibility to be applied at a level appropriate to the project.
If you are interested in more detailed information about PRINCE2 you can attend QRP MMI’s next event in Stockholm the 15th of October, “PRINCE2 Nordic Forum”. Just e-mail hanna.gustafsson@qrpmmi.se and reserve your free ticket!
