Program Management Complexity: A Competency Model
In this informative presentation, J. LeRoy Ward will describe the Levin-Ward competency model that you can apply immediately to help explore and reduce the complexity that is associated with your programs. Moreover, the model explains specific performance criteria that one should strive to meet and identifies the types of evidence to demonstrate success in each area. LeRoy will identify the six key performance competencies, the eight personal competencies, how to assess program management competency using the Levin-Ward competency model, and will provide a five-step process for implementing the model.
J. LeRoy Ward
J. LeRoy Ward, Executive Vice President, is responsible for ESI’s worldwide product strategy, corporate marketing, and new product development. Complementing a 17-year career with four U.S. federal agencies, Mr. Ward has delivered project management programs to clients in North and Central America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
He has authored numerous publications and articles including Project Management Dictionary (3rd ed); with Ginger Levin PMP Exam Practice Test and Study Guide; PMP Exam Challenge; PgMP Exam Practice Test and Study Guide; Program Management Complexity: A Competency Model; and, with Carl Pritchard a collection of audio CDs entitled “Conversations on Passing the PMP Exam” which has won rave reviews worldwide. Mr. Ward’s articles have appeared in the FinancialTimes, Chief Learning Officer, PM Network and Project Manager Today. A popular and dynamic presenter, he speaks frequently on project management and related topics at professional association meetings and conferences around the world. He has also served on the adjunct faculties of The George Washington University and The American University.
Mr. Ward holds BS and MS degrees in geography/cartography from Southern Connecticut State University and an MSTM degree, with distinction, from The American University in computer systems applications.
Mr. Ward is a member of numerous professional associations including the International Project Management Association and the Project Management Institute where is certified as a PMP (No. 431) and PgMP one of the first to earn the designation.
