Learning and Knowledge management in organizations (Will close 2010-08-01)
António Amaral is a doctoral student at Minho University(Portugal), Department of Production and Systems, in the area of Project Management.
He recently developed a questionnaire on Learning and Knowledge Management in Organizations.
The questionnaire is divided in four different parts:
- Data of the interview;
- Technology in the organizational environment;
- Organizational learning environment;
- Leadership.
In order to fulfill the questionnaire it is needed about 15-20 minutes.
The purpose of this questionnaire is to measure the importance of learning and knowledge management topics to the 21st century organizations. Can they constitute the new pillars for performance enhancement and for obtaining market differentiation? We intend to evaluate this phenomenon. The work environment, the relationship between employees, the kind of leadership, the technology available, the organizational culture, among other factors, are examined in the questionnaire.

Governing outsourcing engagements in the presence of uncertainty and supplier opportunism
(Will close 2010-08-31)
Successfully managing an outsourcing engagement is a difficult endeavor. It becomes even more difficult when the supplier acts opportunistically and the project team encounters uncertainty in requirements, resources and technology. The goal of this study is to examine governance mechanisms used by buying firms/ units and recommend appropriate methods to manage an outsourcing engagement under conditions of opportunism and uncertainty. Your participation in this study will enable us to examine effective methods of managing outsourcing projects.

Program management (stänger 2010-02-15)
Dear Program Manager
You are kindly invited to participate in the below questionnaire on leadership in program management.
There are two parts of the questionnaire. The first part asks questions about the nature of programs the program manager managed. The second part assesses program manager’s leadership style. The expected research findings will help program managers to adjust their leadership styles to the different program context, and will help top management to choose an appropriate program manager for the particular program.

Project XY (stängd 2010-02-07)
"Project XY: the project management chromosomes" is a research project addressing the notion of gender diversity in project management.
Based on Fritjof Capra definition of feminine and masculine paradigms, the research aims assess the way feminine and masculine paradigms (i.e. value system, ways of thinking, decision making, relational approach) are integrated in Project Management models and, most of all, in the practices of professionals.
The main goal is to identify “the” project management chromosomes as a result of a combination of personal attitudes (either feminine or masculine), PMBOK® guidelines and best practices.
In order to reach this goal, the research needs to collect the experience of Project Managers from various countries, with different seniority, experience and professional background.
The questionnaire will be accessible online from 14th December 2009 to 7th February 2010. To access the online survey access, please click the link below.

The results of the research will also be available online and they will also be presented among the initiatives the Northern Italy Chapter is planning for the 2010 PMI® EMEA Congress to be held in Milan.
The questionnaire and the results will be validated by SAS®, the research technical sponsor.
